Favourite Autumn Outfits 2020

As we are now coming to the end of Autumn and the beautiful orange leaves are falling off the trees, I have decided to look back through my outfits and chose my top five autumnal favourites from my Instagram @graciemariekeenan.

Over this last season I have come to realise that style wise, Autumn is my favourite because I love layering and being snuggled in warmer clothing. I also love the colours that come with autumnal outfits, the chunky boots paired with oversized blazers and the introduction of hats and scarfs. So here are my top five.

Outfit Number One

I know I love an outfit when it makes me feel like a million dollars and this outfit did just that. I was having a bit of an outfit inspiration block so looked on Pinterest for some new ideas. I found some of my saved photos and I noticed there were so many military mixed with suit style outfits so wanted to put my spin on that. I had had my eye on these H&M trousers for a few months and finally treated myself to them. They are wide leg smart suit trousers but paired with the chunky boot gives them a modern twist. Adding a black roll neck to colour match the boots makes the trousers the main focal point of the outfit. As the trousers are a statement, I chose to keep the rest of the outfit simple so the outfit doesn't become cluttered. I decided on hair down, no necklace and simple gold earrings to match the gold buckle on the belt.

Outfit Number Two

This outfit is one of my all time favourites. The coat and skirt set are from the latest Lorna Luxe InTheStyle collection which I love. Since rewatching Friends and seeing Rachel Green in coat and trouser/skirt co-ords, I have been on the look out for some. I felt like I could have been in Emily in Paris in this outfit and it made me feel great. I chose to pair the co-ord with my signature black roll neck, tights and boots and added a splash of colour with the beret. I wore this outfit to work and was on cloud nine all day. These are my favourite type of outfits because they are so easy to construct but look really thought out.

Outfit Number Three

For this one I have paired two together as they both involve the same blazer and I loved them both equally. The first picture was such a simple outfit consisting of the co-ord trouser and jacket together.  I styled the trousers tucked into the H&M boots to give a masculine/military style similar to the first outfit. The second outfit started with my usual base of a black roll neck, mini skirt and tights. The blazer added some colour to an otherwise all black outfit. As the blazer has a very boxy style, it needed a belt to give me some shape and define my waist. To finish the look I added my Zara 90s style chunky loafers, my trusty everyday cross-body bag and then all gold jewellery to match the finishes on the other accessories. Both very easy but stylish and modern looks.

Outfit Number Four

This is a classic example of a casual autumnal outfit with plenty of layers. I have four different layers on my top half in this outfit which I think all contribute equally to the final look. Staring off with the basics of a white t-shirt and jeans then adding a cardigan for a bit of colour. The blazer over the top smartens the look but the extreme rips in the jeans also keep it casual at the same time. To make it extra autumnal, the baker boy hat and coat finish the outfit off nicely. This look reminded me a little of Eponine from 'Les Miserables' but a little bit more upscale!

Outfit Number Five

My final autumnal outfit speaks very much to the London Girl style I love (and not just because the jumper says London on it!). Starting off again with a simple black oversized t-shirt and blue jeans then layering the sweater over in a casual but chic way. I added a chunky gold chain and gold buckle KG slides to elevate slightly. The final touch of the trench coat and bag made me feel like I was walking the streets of Chelsea. I believe that adding a trench to any look can make it look a little bit more expensive.

So they are my top Autumn outfits and I'm ready for the winter looks now! More layering, chunky knits, big boots and plenty more coats to come.

All my love

Gracie Marie Keenan
