Introduction Post

Hello! 

My name is Gracie Marie Keenan. I am twenty-one years old and I'm from Kent in England. I have recently graduated from University this year (2020) and am now beginning to find my way in the world and figure out which career path I want to take. 


Like many people, at the beginning of lockdown, I was a completely different person to who I am today. I was living at University in Southampton with my friends, constantly in joggers, hoodies and leggings and bored of cooking for one. Since March an unbelievable amount has changed in my life and I've even considered changing my hair! 

I left Southampton finishing a course I wasn't one hundred percent passionate about (Musical Theatre), in a relationship and very homesick. Funny how much has changed since then! I'm now looking for a job in the fashion industry, navigating single life and living with my family back in Kent. My dream is to live in Paris one day but until that dream becomes a little more feasible, I'm setting my sights on a big city like London or Manchester. 

Whilst in lockdown, I created a new Instagram page (@graciemariekeenan) which initially I described as a fashion page however I wasn't certain on what I wanted the content to actually be. I only packed one bag to bring home so had a limited selection of clothes at hand. Because of this I really struggled styling outfits over the first three month lockdown and felt very uninspired.

When I was finally allowed back to Southampton to collect the rest of my things, I then realised that I didn't even like the clothes I had been so desperate to get back. So I decided to have a huge clear out and managed to rid myself of about 75% of my wardrobe. Since then I have been slowly building back up my wardrobe with items I genuinely love and want to wear.

This complete change in wardrobe then inspired me and I wanted my new Instagram to reflect that. I had found a few fashion feeds where girls posted photos of their outfits everyday. This meant I wouldn't have to rely on someone else to take my photos and my page would have a theme. I was so inspired and started to get great feedback from people when they saw the page. 

So now that I have found my feet with my Instagram I want to take the plunge and create this blog. I am super excited for this blog. Fashion, beauty and skincare bring me so much joy and I feel I have a lot to say on these topics. I believe I have grown so much as a person over this pandemic time and am happy at the place I am at. 

I hope people enjoy this new blog, and who knows where it will lead!

Hello! For the next blog post in the 'How to Style' series, I have chosen to style a simple hoodie. This is a staycation edition as most of us are once again unable to go abroad on holiday this summer! My Favourite Black Outfits June 2021

I have really been enjoying playing around and creating outfits recently and found myself inspired to turn them into this blog! I created the first two and realised that I had done them head to toe in black, so chose to carry on with that theme. If you hadn't noticed from my previous blogs, I really like to wear black. Some of these are looks i've worn before and some I created specifically for this blog. These are mainly evening outfits or occasion outfits so not for everyday, but I don't need a reason to dress up these days! I use the same headband in quite a lot of these outfits because I am obsessed with it at the moment and love the vibe it adds to the looks. How to Style... Black Espadrille Wedges

Hello again!  So the second blog in the 'How to Style' series is gong to be about black espadrille wedges. My wedges are from Zara and I've worn them in now so they are super comfy, but they didn't come that way! These are mostly summer outfits as you don't tend to wear espadrilles in winter but some can be tweaked for the colder weather. This blog post really made me realise that all my clothing is from Zara and H&M!  1.  Wedding Guest/ Special Occasion THIS DRESS! I love this dress so much. It's from H&M last S/S collection and I wanted it as soon as I saw it. The colour is so bright and beautiful and mixes so well with other colours. I saw so many great ways to style it and different colours to style it with on Instagram last year. Emerald green goes really nicely as well as red but I quite like to style it with black.
