Wow! It has been a long and busy December and January! Which is ironic since we are practically in lockdown and are unable to go anywhere except on a walk. I have started a new job this year which is an exciting new adventure for me. I want 2021 to be all about improving myself and becoming the best version of me.
But enough about that! This blog post is about the goodies I was lucky enough to have received this Christmas. Throughout the year, I tend to make a list of potential things I would like to have (not expecting all of it of course!) and give it to my family. This, in my opinion, guarantees that I will love all of my presents and this year was no exception. I was spoilt by my wonderful friends and family this year and may have spoilt myself too :)
So first up is an item I am happily able to tick off my designer wishlist: Chanel No. 5! This is by far my favourite scent as it was worn by my mother when I was younger and brings back nostalgic memories whenever I get a wiff. Chanel No. 5 represents the person I want to be and everything I want to achieve. I'm so happy with this present and grateful that I'm lucky enough to receive something so special.
My next present is slightly linked to my last one and unlike many of the gifts I received this year, this one was a complete surprise! My sister, Ellie, kindly gifted me this large Chanel coffee table runway book. It is full to the brim with pictures of all the Chanel catwalks including the 2020 ones! This is an amazing gift for me as I am a little Chanel mad.
My other sister, Bea, kindly gifted me the this Bare by Vogue tanning set. It came with the dark tanning mouse, tanning mitt and exfoliating mitt. I have been wanting to try this tan for a long time so was a pleasant surprise to be given it (especially as she tricked me into not buying it for myself on Black Friday!). I have since tested it twice and am happy to report that I love it and the colour is divine.
Now for the "to me from me" present! Whilst 'browsing' the Black Friday sales, I came across a NARS sale on Look Fantastic and just couldn't help myself. My first purchase was the Laguna Liquid Bronzer which I have wanted ever since my best friend and myself tested it in a store (before Covid of course!). The bronzer is so amazing and blends to perfection. My next purchase was the 'Orgasm' set. This consists of the Afterglow Lip Balm, Orgasm Blusher and Orgasm Lipgloss. I am a huge fan of all of these and they have become a regulars in my makeup routine. And finally in this NARS section, I was gifted the Vanilla Bronzer Powder. This colour is so beautiful and makes me look glowy.
On my Christmas list this year was a black croc phone case and matching black croc apple watch strap. I received both of these in my stocking which was wonderful. Sadly the phone case was too big for my phone but the watch strap was absolutely perfect and a great surprise. I was also gifted an amazing belt bag in my stocking. This bag is like a dupe of the Gucci belt bag which I love! And of course what stocking is complete without a chocolate orange??
My next gift made me super excited! After watching Lorna Luxe talk about Phillip Kingsley products for quite a few months, I put the dry scalp toner on my list. Not only did I get that, but I got the shampoo too which was a great surprise. I have used them both about three times and already feel like I can see a difference.
This gift was from a friend/neighbour. I had heard of the company PawPaw before but hadn't tried their products. After trying the tint on my cheeks once, I was absolutely in love. It gives a rosy cheek look that I think isn't too easy to create. The product also came with a lip scrub and very thick and glossy balm. Great present!
And finally...! This year I was desperate to get a black beret and because people know me so well, I got two! Luckily they were made from different materials and give off different vibes. My best friend, Subby got me a fury styled TopShop one and my sisters got me a wool one from Zara.
I feel so unbelievably lucky and grateful for all the gifts I received this year. I love giving presents as much as receiving them so Christmas is my favourite time of year. It's so full of joy and celebrations and spending quality time with your family. Here's hoping next year we will be back to normal and it will be bigger and better than ever before.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year and let's make 2021 better than this intense year we've just had.
All my love,
Gracie Marie Keenan
